Zurich APAC celebrates double recognition for Zurich Edge at the 2025 (Re)inAsia Asia Consumer Insurance Awards: Awarded “Best Embedded Insurance Innovation” and “Best EV Insurer”

This recognition highlights Zurich’s leadership in embedded digital insurance offerings and innovation in Electric Vehicle (EV) risk protection across Asia Pacific.

Singapore, October 15, 2025 - Zurich Insurance in Asia Pacific (“Zurich”) today proudly announced it has won ‘Best Embedded Insurance Innovation’ and ‘Best EV Insurer’ at the (Re)inAsia Asia Consumer Insurance Awards 2025, recognizing Zurich’s digital-first solutions through Zurich Edge and its pioneering approach to insuring electric mobility across the region.

Best Embedded Insurance Innovation

This award reflects Zurich Edge’s rapid innovation in the embedded and contextual protection space since its launch in July 2023. In just two years, Zurich Edge has built over 90 partnerships across Asia Pacific, spanning sectors such as e-commerce, travel, telecommunications, mobility, digital banking, and loyalty. Through its multi-product, multi-market approach, Zurich is reaching hundreds of millions of digital customers and meeting their diverse protection needs in collaboration with leading partners including Shopee, Lazada, Tesla, GXBank, AEON Bank, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Trip.com, Traveloka, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchinson and Klook among others.

Built on the four pillars of Renowned Expertise, Redefined Partnerships, Refreshed Solutions, and Reimagined Technology powered by the Zurich Edge Platform (ZEP); Zurich Edge delivers a complete end-to-end embedded insurance offering for this market.

ZEP’s cloud-native, open-API architecture enables rapid, modular product deployment within partner ecosystems. Its flexible design supports the refreshed propositions through tailored product recommendations and dynamic pricing, while innovations such as parametric claims, the Digital Policy Card, and Travel Alerts enhance customer engagement and service efficiency.

Best EV Insurer

The EV win recognises Zurich’s multi‑market leadership in EV insurance - combining data‑driven underwriting, risk engineering through Zurich Resilience Solutions, and partnerships with OEMs and the energy‑ecosystem partnerships to address EV‑specific risks from battery and charging equipment to repair networks.

In Australia, Zurich is the preferred insurer for Tesla, offering customers an integrated, app-embedded “InsureMyTesla” customer journey that streamlines the insurance experience and provides access to a certified repair network. In India, Zurich Kotak introduced the “EV Protect” add-on, specifically tailored to support Tesla’s market entry by covering critical electric vehicle components and charger-related risks. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong and Malaysia, Zurich has established collaborations with Zeekr and Gentari respectively, extending bespoke EV coverage and enhanced charging support services to meet the evolving needs of electric vehicle owners across these markets.

“These awards reflect the dedication of our teams and partners across Asia Pacific to shaping the future and expanding our digital-first offerings. Zurich Edge demonstrates our commitment to contextual, embedded insurance designed for partner ecosystems. Our co-creation approach solves real customer challenges, powered by open cloud architecture. With EVs, we’re leveraging Zurich’s deep technical expertise to help customers embrace cleaner mobility confidently. We look forward to scaling this model across Asia Pacific.” said Roopa Malhotra, Head of Customer and Digital, Zurich APAC.
