Zurich Singapore unveils FlyEasy coverage with Klook: real-time lounge access for delayed flights

Singapore, 19 March 2024 – Zurich Insurance (Zurich), in partnership with leading travel and leisure e-commerce platform Klook, is pleased to introduce FlyEasy - a new benefit which aims to reduce customer stress from long flight delays at airports.

FlyEasy offers travellers real-time, complimentary lounge access* in any airport around the world whenever their flights are delayed by more than two hours with no claims filing or application processing required. This service is a departure from conventional insurance practices that typically involve onerous claim forms and policy benefits that only kick in after travel delays last more than six hours.

Powered by Zurich Edge, FlyEasy takes an innovative, customer-first approach, providing a value-added travel benefit that is more meaningful and relevant to a customer at their time of need. Leveraging Zurich Edge’s suite of digital insurance processes and capabilities, the FlyEasy customer journey has been carefully designed to provide hassle-free coverage, while meeting the evolving demands of today’s travellers and enhancing customer experience and satisfaction.

Singapore residents, who have an eligible policy with Klook Protect need to simply register their flight details at least 24 hours before departure on Zurich Insurance’s dedicated FlyEasy platform. Upon confirmation of a flight delay, the customer will automatically receive a notification email and SMS with a lounge access code. If there is no lounge available at their current location, the access code will remain valid for six months for use at any other airport lounge.

FlyEasy leverages the Zurich Edge platform with micro-services from
Blink Parametric to bypass the need for any manual claims processes. The initiative is also in line with Zurich's commitment to environmental responsibility with the elimination of any paper receipts and the automation of procedures, setting the stage for the future of parametric travel insurance solutions.
